Tecumsah, Michigan is home to over 8,000 people. Residents have local access to a skydiving operation, an art center, a winery and Vetri-Science Laboratories’ Practice of the Month, Companion Animal Clinic.
Companion Animal Clinic, founded by Dennis White, DVM, opened its doors on May 18, 1981. For the past 31 years, this small animal practice has provided the community with a variety of services; today, it features surgery, dentistry, radiograph, ultrasound and holistic functionality.
With two DVMs, Mr. White and Jamie Major, on staff, Companion is able to offer individualized care for dogs and cats. Office Manager Jackie Yeary, who has been a Companion employee for over 11 years, says the clinic has high standards for that care’s quality.
“Our goal is to be the most caring, knowledgeable, state-of-the-art animal clinic that we can be. We want our clients to expect this from us every time we interact with them,” Yeary says. “We have a friendly staff that truly loves animals and veterinarians dedicated to continuing education so we can always offer our clients the best choices in veterinary care.”
In addition to the two DVMs, nine staff members comprise the crew at Companion, a clinic that tends to treats more dogs than cats. (To that end, Yeary stresses the importance of making cats feel comfortable through offering supportive options like Vetri-Science’s Composure.)
Yeary, who herself has quite the remarkable animal family (eight cats, two dogs and four horses in one big, happy tribe), stresses that her favorite part of the job is the opportunity to be around animals at work, while her least favorite is owner irresponsibility. But the responsible owners are the ones who make the clinic work. It’s their feedback, says Yeary, that helps improve Companion’s services.
When it comes to Vetri-Science products, Yeary says her clients are particularly honest with their feedback, whatever it might concern. She notes the importance of a quality guarantee, and the value of offering a large product variety. Among the top sellers? Composure, Vetri-Liver Canine and Derma-Strength—three products that work supportive wonders for dogs and cats as we move into winter months.
Companion Animal Clinic has been a staple of Tecumsah life for 31 years, keeping pups and kitties—and their human counterparts—healthy and happy with quality care. Now, we’re proud to be on board, and to call Companion Animal Clinic Vetri-Science’s October Practice of the Month!
